Samsung announces availability of Galaxy Note in Asia (cnet)

Six Southeast Asian countries--Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore,
Thailand and Vietnam--will be getting the smartphone in November. JAKARTA,
Indonesia--Samsung announced at its Galaxy Note World Tour event that six
Southeast Asian countries--Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam
and the Philippines--can expect to see the large-screen smartphone by November
2011.The Korean company also told us that the Galaxy Note will launch in
Singapore come November with a retail price of S$998 (US$784) without an
operator contract. We've also followed up with Samsung for the retail pricing
in the other five countries and will update once we have more information.The
Galaxy Note features a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED screen with a display
resolution of 1,280 x 800 pixels and has a stylus to let users write and draw.

the same event was the Galaxy Nexus that we last saw in Hong Kong during its
launch. The handset will be available for Singapore in January 2012, though a
spokesperson said the company is still trying to bring it in before Christmas.
