Messe Frankfurt, Houston’s George R. Brown CC, Seattle’s Washington State CTC Will Offer Free Wi-Fi to Visitors (TSNN)

With the proliferation of mobile devices on the trade show floor, several
convention centers recently decided to start offering free Wi-Fi to people
visiting their venues, including Germany's Messe Frankfurt, Houston's George
R. Brown Convention Center and the Washington State Convention & Trade Center
in Seattle.

At Messe Frankfurt, where Wi-Fi originally was installed in 2004, wireless
Internet access will be free on the entire exhibition grounds at all of Messe
Frankfurt's own fairs.

"Messe Frankfurt is the first German organizer to provide its visitors and
exhibitors with free Wi-Fi services throughout its site", said Dr. Andreas
Winckler, managing director of Messe Frankfurt Medien und Service GmbH and
vice president of services.

Messe Frankfurt fairs attract a considerable amount of international attendees
and, with the free Wi-Fi, guests from overseas now will be able to avoid often
expensive roaming charges from their mobile providers, according to Messe
Frankfurt officials.

The first event to feature free Wi-Fi will be Heimtextil 2012, which will open
its doors Jan. 11.

Visitors to Houston's George R. Brown Convention Center also will be able to
now enjoy free Wi-Fi throughout the facility.
